What are the levels of play
- VAIR players at the novice level with ratings of 2.5 and 3.1. If you have shown exceptional skill in the Beginner Level or have been consistently victorious in your Open Play games, it's time to take your gameplay to the next level!
- VAIR for intermediate-level players caters to those rated between 3.2 and 3.9. It is ideal for players seeking to enhance their skills and delve into the strategic aspects of pickleball alongside peers of similar ability.
- VAIR understands that experienced players thrive on competition. Our VAIR advanced play is designed for players rated 4.0 and above, ensuring you only face opponents of similar skill levels in a fiercely competitive setting.
First Serve: The North side always serves first. The team that starts serving is determined either by a game of rock, paper, scissors or by selecting a number written on the back of the score card.
Switching Sides due to weather: Teams switch sides after one team reaches 6 points if playing to 11.
Bad Weather: Due to the possibility of injury, tournament play will be cancelled when the courts are wet. Wind will generally not result in cancellation of play. If you are uncertain whether matches will be played, please contact the Tournament Ambassador.
Cancellations: If you are scheduled to play and a last-minute emergency or injury will keep you from participating, please notify the Tournament Ambassador IMMEDIATELY by text. The Ambassador will try to recruit a substitute.
*The timing of events and possible dates may vary based on weather conditions and the number of participants signed up for the competitions. Your flexibility in this matter is greatly appreciated.
